Scope of Services and Agreement

Derasmo Moving offers a range of relocation services tailored to US-based moves, such as packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and optional add-ons like storage or specialty handling.

1. Service Description: Services are defined in your customized quote or contract, based on an initial evaluation. Estimates may be binding or non-binding; the latter can adjust due to actual shipment details or unexpected factors.
2. Exclusions: We do not handle international relocations, hazardous materials, perishables, or prohibited items (see our dedicated policy). All moves are limited to the continental US unless specified.
3. Contract Formation: A signed agreement or acceptance of our quote constitutes a binding contract. Changes must be approved in writing.

Booking, Payments, and Cancellations

Timely arrangements help us deliver optimal service.

• Reservations: Secure your date with a 20% deposit of the estimated cost, applied to the final invoice. Peak season bookings (June-August) require at least 4 weeks’ notice.
• Payment Terms: Balance is payable upon completion of delivery via credit card (2.5% fee), check, or cash. Overdue amounts accrue 1% monthly interest. Prices are in USD and may include applicable taxes or surcharges.
• Modifications and Cancellations: Date or service changes need 14 days’ notice. Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the deposit. Unforeseeable events (e.g., severe weather) may permit fee-free rescheduling at our discretion.

Liability, Insurance, and Claims

We prioritize the safety of your belongings, but coverage options vary.

1. Standard Liability: Included is Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per item, per FMCSA standards. This provides basic coverage but is limited.
2. Additional Coverage: Upgrade to Full Value Protection for comprehensive repair, replacement, or cash settlement (deductibles from $200). High-value items must be declared beforehand.
3. Client Responsibilities for Liability: Damage to self-packed items or pre-existing conditions is not covered unless due to our negligence. A detailed inventory is conducted for verification.
4. Claims Procedure: Notify us of any issues within 60 days post-delivery with evidence (photos, descriptions). We process claims in line with federal regulations; unresolved disputes go to mediation.

Client Obligations and Safety

Your preparation contributes to a seamless move.

• Access and Preparation: Provide unobstructed entry/exit at both locations, including elevators or parking permits. Disclose access challenges (e.g., stairs, narrow doors) in advance.
• Safety Protocols: Ensure pets, children, and valuables are secured during operations. Adhere to our no-smoking policy on-site. We follow health guidelines, including sanitization.
• Inventory and Inspection: Review and sign the bill of lading at loading and delivery to confirm condition and completeness.

Additional Terms

1. Storage Services: Available on request with monthly rates; we maintain secure, climate-controlled facilities. Liability during storage follows similar terms.
2. Delays and Force Majeure: We strive for on-time performance, but delays from traffic, weather, or external factors are not compensable. Communication will be provided.
3. Governing Law: These terms are subject to the laws of the move’s origin state and US federal regulations. Any amendments require mutual written consent.
